AXA Life

Formed in 1997 after the merger of Sun Life Group and AXA Equity & Law‚ AXA Life has a high profile in the UK life, pensions and investments industry. Its remit covers group and personal pensions‚ life assurance‚ stakeholder pensions and protection as well as onshore and offshore investment bonds. AXA Life is based in Bristol and is also home for the innovative new wrap business platform, Elevate.

In 2006 AXA acquired Winterthur Life and in October 2008 created its new wealth business, AXA Winterthur Wealth Management.  Headquartered in Basingstoke it offers products and investments aimed at high net worth clients.

In July 2008 AXA also created Architas, a specialist investment company dedicated to providing multi–manager propositions. Architas is a new investment business centred on a distinct customer proposition and market leading multi-manager capability.

In 2009 AXA brought all its wealth businesses (AXA Winterthur Wealth Management, AXA Distribution Services - Elevate, AXA Isle of Man, AXA Life Europe and Architas) together to form a single business unit, AXA Wealth.
