Duncan Kerr

Born 1935, Maths degree (Oxford 1958) and Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries 1963.

He held a wide range of management positions at Equity & Law Life Assurance Society plc (latterly AXA-Equity & Law) from 1963, was Chief Actuary from 1985-1997 and Appointed Actuary 1985-2001.

He was a director of Equity & Law and associate companies from 1986-2001 and, following the Financial Reorganisation, became Actuary to the Monitoring Board in April 2001. He was appointed to the With Profit Committees of AXA Sun Life and Sun Life Assurance Society on formation in 2004 and the corresponding Committee for Winterthur Life in 2007.

Ian Brimecome - Non-executive Director

Born 1953, was appointed Non-executive Director in March 2007. He was a Non-executive Director of Winterthur UK Financial Services Group Ltd until December 2006. He has over 30 years' experience of the financial services industry in a wide variety of roles.

He has advised on more than eighty merger and acquisition transactions in the insurance and asset management industries in more than twenty countries. He is an Associate of the Institute of Financial Services and a Member of the Institute of Management. He is also Chairman of Equitable Life Assurance Society, Vice-Chairman of Macquarie Capital Europe, Chairman of Bluefin Group and a Non-executive Director of the Kiln Group, Philadelphia Consolodated Holdings and Edelweiss Tokio Life.

Jonathan Asquith - Non-executive Director

Born 1956, he was appointed to the Board as a Non-executive Director of AXA UK plc in March 2009. He is a member of the Investment Committee. In January 2010 he was appointed as a Non-executive Director of AXA Investment Managers SA and is Chairman of the Audit Committee of that company. Before joining the Board of AXA UK plc, he spent thirty years in financial services in investment banking and asset management with Morgan Grenfell, Deutsche Bank and Schroders, where he served as CFO and later Vice Chairman until 2008.

He is also a Non-executive Director of Ashmore Group plc, the emerging market fund manager.
