AXA Products

AXA Home Insurance - Greener living.

Appliances

  • Turn your appliances, TVs, Hi-fis, computers, etc., off at the plug, rather than leaving them on standby over night or during the day when you're not in.
  • Don't leave your mobile phone charger plugged in when it's not being used - it still uses electricity unnecessarily whilst it is plugged in.
  • Wash your clothes at 30 - 40°C rather than 60°C - you'll reduce your electricity consumption without comprising the wash.
  • Only boil enough water in your kettle as is immediately required - don't boil a kettle full of water just to make one cup of tea.
  • When buying new appliances, look for ones which have a good energy rating.
  • Wait until you have a full load before putting your dishwasher or washing machine on - this will mean you use the machines less often and so save electricity and money.
