Drowning

• Do not endanger yourself but remove your pet from the water if possible.
• Once out of the water suspend your pet by its hindquarters to allow water to drain from the lungs. A swinging motion can be used to encourage breathing.
• If your pet does not start to breathe naturally you should implement resuscitation. (see a detailed description under Emergency Techniques).
• Once resuscitated dry your pet and wrap it in a blanket to keep warm.
