If vehicles are flooded to the point of being completely submerged there is very
little to be achieved other than:
- Be aware that the vehicle may have been moved by the flood water and may be precariously balanced Because of this the vehicle could fall back onto you or pin you against a stationary object causing injury
- If possible photograph the vehicle and its condition, do not attempt to start it or open fuel tank caps or engine compartment as this may increase the risk of water pollution
- Once flood waters drop release water that may be trapped inside the vehicle
