(13/07/2007) Newtown firm is once again regional winner of AXA 'Business Oscars'

AXA today announced that Newtown firm Quartix (www.quartix.net) has won the Wales and West Country regional final of the AXA Small to Medium Business of the Year Awards.

Quartix, which produces a vehicle tracking system to commercial fleet operators, using GPS satellite and internet technology goes forward to the grand final of the prestigious National Business Awards, dubbed by Gordon Brown as the 'Business Oscars', at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on 13 November.

The AXA Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year Award recognises businesses for their entrepreneurship and innovation and highlights the importance of management excellence in maintaining a successful business today and continuing to grow it in the future.

Lou Macari, the Wales and West Country Regional Judge, said: "Although it was a hard decision with such strong competition from the region, we chose Quartix because they were able to demonstrate market leading innovation combined with a strong track record of success and structured plans to manage the future growth and direction of the business. We wish them every success in the future and in the National Final.

The other regional finalists battling to win the title of AXA Small to Medium Business of the Year are:
