(03/01/2008) AXA goes for six with M&G

AXA adds two new products to its pensions and investments platforms

AXA's wealth management range now includes two further M&G flagship retail funds. The £1.1 billion S&P 'AA' rated M&G American Fund and £1.2 billion M&G Property Portfolio are now offered via AXA Life's pensions and investments platforms.

Vince Rennie, Chief Investment Officer, AXA & Winterthur Wealth Management, says: "We believe these two M&G funds will be strong performers in their respective sectors where the provider has already demonstrated long term strength and is already popular with advisers. Their addition continues our strategy to add choice and quality to our fund ranges in sectors where we have been looking to increase our offering."

Andrew Watson, M&G's Partnerships Director, comments: "Open architecture is rapidly evolving and we believe that the wraps and platforms market still has huge potential for growth. Recognition of M&G's long term, outperformance across our fund range combined with M&G’s strong brand presence, has led to demand for our funds from investors. As a result, a range M&G funds are now available on the majority of UK platforms. AXA is one of the UK's major Life and Pensions providers and we are delighted to be linking these two further funds to its platforms."

The M&G American Fund and M&G Property Portfolio join four other key M&G funds available as part of AXA's range, these are:

  • M&G Global Basics Fund
  • M&G Recovery Fund
  • M&G UK Select Fund
  • M&G Gilt and Fixed Interest Fund

About the funds:

The £1.1 billion M&G American Fund is managed by Citywire AAA-rated Aled Smith1, and its bottom-up stock selection approach focuses on companies with improving returns on capital selected from the full spectrum of publicly listed companies in North America.

The £1.2 billion M&G Property Portfolio directly invests in bricks and mortar property assets in the UK including offices, industrial and retail properties.
