Pet Insurance Guide - What you need to know about Vet's Fees with your Pet Insurance Policy

Some insurers only offer time-limited cover with their pet insurance policies. This means that if your pet develops a condition requiring long term treatment, vet's fees cover will stop at the end of the time limit, leaving you to cover the further costs of your pet's treatment.

There are a number of complementary therapies available for pets, which can make a real difference to their recovery. Check out if your pet insurer covers complementary therapies. AXA's pet policy does, for a wide range of complementary treatments including physiotherapy, acupuncture, and hydrotherapy.

AXA will also pay for the treatment of behavioural conditions, and cover the cost of a special diet for your pet if such a diet is recommended by your vet to treat a condition.

The vast majority of pet insurance policies do not cover the costs of cremating your pet if the worst has happened. AXA's pet insurance policy does cover cremation costs as a result of an accident or illness covered by the policy if these costs do arise.

Further details of AXA's pet insurance covers and the exclusions and limitations can be found in the policy summary and the policy booklet.
