Travel Guides.

Sustainable tourism is all about managing your impact on both the environment and the people, of your holiday destination. Reducing your negative impact, or increasing your positive impact, is easily achievable. Here are some things you could do when on holiday;

  • Buy local - helps local families and the local economy, but don't buy souvenirs made from endangered plants or animals
  • Respect local cultures
  • Respect the natural environment - don't drop litter
  • Recycle where possible
  • Turn off hotel room air conditioning when it is not needed
  • Be conservative with water and electricity

These are just a few of the more obvious things to bear in mind whilst on holiday. Common sense and respect are the most important things in sustainable tourism.
