    Sharm el Sheikh

Following the change in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) travel advice advising against all but essential air travel to Sharm el Sheikh, a number of airlines and tour operators have cancelled all outbound flights to Sharm el Sheikh.

Individuals that have booked holidays through a package tour operator will be compensated by their tour operator for the majority of additional accommodation and alternative travel costs that may incur up to the 12th November 2015.

Package holidaymakers may have some additional costs which they cannot obtain a refund for from their tour operator such as airport parking. Where a traveller has an AXA policy that includes Travel Disruption Cover, it is likely that they will be covered for these additional costs providing they purchased cover and booked their trip, before the 5th November 2015 and the flight they were due to take has been cancelled by their airline.

For the minority of individuals who are due to travel independently to Sharm El Sheikh, they should receive a full refund of their flights costs from their airline. Where a traveller has an AXA policy that includes Travel Disruption Cover, they will be covered for any irrecoverable accommodation costs and other additional costs such as airport parking providing they purchased cover and booked their trip, before the 5th November 2015 and the flight they were due to take has been cancelled by their airline.
