In this newly created leadership role, Martin will develop AXA Commercial Lines' multi-media strategy with specific emphasis on how the company engages with its customers and employees via social and other digital media. He will report directly to CEO, Amanda Blanc who says:

"Martin is highly regarded by the industry. During his years at Insurance Age, he established a reputation for straight talking. It's a quality that I admire and one that I want to ensure runs through all our communications with brokers whether in the press, on our website or on Twitter. I want Martin to innovate our media strategy and the way we engage with our customers. Social media is becoming all pervasive and I want AXA Commercial Lines to be leading the industry in the way we use it to communicate better our commercial messages."

Martin joined the Insurance Age team in 2006 and was appointed editor in 2009. He oversaw the rebrand in 2011 and was responsible for successfully driving its online development.

Commenting on his new role, Martin adds: "The new management team at AXA Commercial Lines has taken huge steps forward in re-engaging with brokers over the past year. As we work hard to deliver on our business promises, it is essential that our messaging is loud, clear and consistent. I have seen our industry embracing new media and my job will be to use this experience to guide and advise on the fast moving world of social media".
