For cancer treatment, AXA PPP is also waiving any monetary
limits that may apply to out-patient tests and consultations.
In addition, AXA PPP is extending its freephone Dedicated Nurse
service, which it currently offers to members undergoing treatment
for cancer, to support members who are diagnosed with a heart
condition - providing them and their families with access to a
dedicated nurse who can discuss their queries and concerns,
bringing understanding and reassurance at what can be a difficult
and uncertain time.
For those who've been treated for cancer or undergone heart
surgery,*** there is the peace of mind of a 'no time limit'
approach to paying for follow-up tests and consultations to monitor
their progress and recovery over the longer term.
Further features of AXA PPP's enhanced cover for cancer
include:
- Benefit for experimental cancer drug treatment when undertaken as part of an ethical clinical trial.
- Hospice benefit: a charitable donation of £100 per night for care provided in a registered hospice or for hospice care provided at home - without a time or monetary limit.
- Additional expenses support: including £150 towards wigs and up to £5,000 to cover the cost of external prostheses such as eyes or limbs.
AXA PPP's commercial director Fergus Craig said:
"We want our members to be confident that, if they need treatment
for cancer or a heart problem, we're committed to supporting them -
not just by settling their medical bills but also by helping them
through our Dedicated Nurse service and by providing additional
benefits that can help to make life a little easier when they need
it most."
These enhancements apply both to new customers and to existing AXA
PPP members with immediate effect.
AXA PPP's large corporate and healthcare trust customers will
continue to have the option to choose their level of cover for
treatment of cancer (ranging from no cover to enhanced levels of
cover).
