Stand Up To Cancer is a joint fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, which raises money to fund vital research which will get new and better treatments to cancer patients faster.

To support the campaign, AXA staff across the UK will be sharing the little things they do, or want to do, to fight cancer as part of AXA UK’s sponsorship of Stand Up To Cancer.  For every idea posted, AXA is donating £3 to the Stand Up To Cancer campaign, with a fundraising target of £100,000.

The ideas can either be posted on the campaign pin board, or employees are invited to use photography or video apps to create short films of the changes they will commit to making to help us beat cancer sooner. Employees are also being invited to attend relaxation and meditation technique sessions - for the small sum of £2 - which will help them to understand some of the other factors that lead to a healthier lifestyle.

One hundred and fifty staff from across AXA are also manning the telephone lines to support the programme and gather donations when it goes live at seven pm tonight.

We are delighted to support Stand Up To Cancer, as it’s a cause that the people in AXA care passionately about. There has been remarkable progress in the treatment of cancer over the last 40 years and more people are surviving cancer than ever before. We hope to raise as much money as possible for ground-breaking research that will bring discoveries from the lab to patients much faster.
