You're a...

highway hero

Forget Highway to Hell, you're a highway hero. You're the one everyone waves at as you whistle-on by. Far from the white van man stereotype, you're more than happy to stop and help someone in trouble. And if a neighbour needs help moving furniture, you're there in a flash. Sure, traffic jams get you down, but it's nothing a quick cuppa can't sort out. You're only human, after all.

Did you know1...
  • 78% of van drivers like you would stop to help an injured person.
  • Almost half enjoy listening to pop music as they go about their work.
  • Around one third will stop for a cup of tea or coffee to de-stress.

Traffic jams are a pain, but it pays to be patient. Van drivers are 50% more likely to be involved in a crash while close-following than other drivers2. Even heroes aren't invincible. Know the risks and make sure your van is properly protected – so you can keep on doing what you're doing.

You're a...

rocky roader

You're king of the road. You know these streets like the back of your hand – so you're the best man for most jobs. Sure, driving in bad weather or getting stuck in a jam might make you feel like you're on the highway to hell, but it's nothing that cranking up the volume on your stereo can't fix. After all, rocking out to your favourite power ballad helps you stay cool.

Did you know1...
  • Almost a fifth of van drivers like you enjoy listening to loud music while driving.
  • Almost 60% say music helps them to de-stress while driving.
  • 8% of drivers have a black van – are you back in black?

Listening to loud music while driving can be distracting – even for a king of the road. Van drivers are 142% more likely to crash when reversing compared to other drivers2. Next time you're making a manoeuvre, turn it down. Know the risks and make sure your van is properly protected – so you can keep on doing what you're doing.

You're a...

reeeeelaxed rider

You're as cool as a cucumber, driving windows-down with the breeze in your hair. You avoid all that new music the kids listen to, preferring something as easy-going as you are (think Road to Nowhere or Boyz II Men, End of the Road). Roadworks (and the ensuing traffic jams) disrupt your Zen – and that really grinds your gears! Thankfully, it's nothing a little sing-song can't help with.

Did you know1...
  • Three quarters of van drivers like you would stop to help someone who had been knocked over.
  • Almost 30% of van drivers like a long bath at the end of a long day.
  • Almost three quarters of drivers sing in their van, and 30% say it helps them to relax.

There's relaxed, and then there's relaxed. Hard-working van drivers like you are almost 25% more likely to crash due to feeling tired at the wheel – and it's likely this figure is higher than reported2. Know the risks and make sure your van is properly protected – so you can keep on doing what you're doing.
