Types of car insurance cover

What different car insurance options are there?

When you take out a car insurance policy with AXA, you have two different cover types to choose from: comprehensive or third party, fire and theft.

The main difference between the two is that comprehensive car insurance covers your car in case it is damaged accidentally - even if you were at fault.

No matter which type of cover you choose, AXA Plus Car Insurance has been designed from the ground up based on the wants and needs of drivers like you. Many of our benefits are listed below to help you choose what's best for you.

Optional extras

Alongside your basic policy, you can also add a range of optional extras to your cover. These provide additional cover and support when you need it most. We offer the following optional extras:

Courtesy car upgrade

If you can’t use your car due to a valid car insurance claim, we’ll keep you on the road with a courtesy car while your car is being repaired. However, with the courtesy car upgrade, we’ll ensure that your hire car is a similar size to the car you own. So, if you drive a 7-seater, we’ll do our best to make sure you get a 7-seater hire car while your car is being repaired – which should hopefully let you get on with your life as normal.
