Alain was appointed Chief Executive of AXA’s retail business in the UK in January 2024. Alain has built his career in AXA, starting as an Actuary in Portugal, then moving to Paris as Personal & Commercial (P&C) Actuary Director at AXA Headquarters, before moving to AXA Germany for roles as Head of Controlling in Finance, as Chief Risk Officer and as Head of P&C Retail.
Alain then moved to Switzerland as Chief Financial Officer, driving AXA Switzerland transformation to deliver growth and earnings in line with Driving Progress 2023, whilst contributing across the business as a member of the ExCom; leading capital management initiatives and developing a third-party Asset Management business model.
He has a wealth of P&C technical expertise, a track record of transformation and delivery, and a reputation as a results-oriented and people focused leader who builds high performing, engaged teams.
